Kells Academy, is a private English Elementary and High School in Montreal – a beautiful city that lies within easy driving distance of Toronto,Ottawa, Boston, New York and Washington D.C. and some of the most prestigious Universities in the world like McGill, Harvard, MIT, Yale, Dartmouth and Cornell.
Montreal itself has four Universities (McGill is in the heart of the city) and is the hub for academics, medicine, research, sports and leisure in Canada. Since the last 36 years, Kells Academy has been continuously educating and preparing its students, through eleven years of grade school, for a uniform examination leading to a High School Diploma that is a pre-requisite for higher education in Canada. Kells Academy’s high academic standards have resulted in an enviable near-perfect graduation rate and our graduates have gone on to study at some of the most prestigious Universities in North America. We believe in small class sizes so that each student gets personal attention
It can be a traumatic experience and a logistical nightmare to think about sending your child halfway across the world to study in a foreign country. The caring and nurturing environment that we provide at Kells Academy is geared to making the students feel like they are part of a family. In fact, we attribute our success to the small classes and the individual attention that each student receives from the teacher. No class has over 25 students and this low student-to-teacher ratio ensures that each teacher gets to know the student personally and can pay close attention and monitor his/her progress in the class. Students can avail of the help of a Guidance Councilor all through their school years. Even after the student has adapted to his/her new environment in the school and in Canada, they can continue to have the help of the Councilor right till they transition from school to university.

We integrate international students completely in our mainstream classrooms
Students who do not have English as their main language are fully integrated and not segregated from the mainstream classroom. If needed, extra help is readily available for these students – they are given access to online language programs under the guidance of a teacher and they can also take extra remedial and extended courses to improve their language skills. -
We are the leaders in integrating technology with education
There are responsible and dedicated teachers for each subject and in each class, but education at Kells Academy stresses the use of technology. While basic concepts and materials are still taught using traditional methods, the role of the teacher has expanded and become much more than that of a person who stands in front of the students and gives information (‘teaches”) which the students can access themselves by using the computer. Instead, each student works with technological devices and tasks are set, assignments completed and marked by the teacher on line. This has resulted in a win-win situation for both the teacher and student and has led to a remarkable transformation in the way material is taught and learnt. The teacher’s time is freed up to enable, supervise and lead interesting discussions, handle questions, issues and problems that the students may have about the subject under discussion. For the students, this flexible and interactive ability has helped them learn at their own pace and given them 24/7 access to their teachers. -
We offer a range of Flex courses and extra-curricular programs
Twice a week, for 75 minutes at a time, students can spend extra time to take a variety of courses that are not part of the academic curriculum. These Flex courses are offered by the school and based on student interest and can include courses like advanced computer applications, financial literacy, the stock market, dance and art – to mention only a few. In addition, your child has the opportunity to discover and develop his/her talent by joining special groups like the Sports, Debating, Music, Drama or Community Service Clubs that meet and compete with other schools at the local and national levels and where our students often win gold medals and other prizes.

We believe in open communication and full parent participation in your child’s education
With the use of technology and by logging on to our Portal, distance is no longer a relevant factor. As parents you have access and full visibility to all your child’s grades, activities, achievements and infractions - no matter where you live in the world. You can even set up appointments through Zoom and hold private parent-teacher meetings with your child’s teachers to discuss any issues that may be of concern to you. -

We make the logistics easy for you
From entry visas, to lodging issues and differences in food and culture, Kells Academy is empathetic to this concern of the parents and we work hard to ensure that the transition is smooth and worry-free. Our homestay program is designed to provide your child with a safe and secure living arrangement. All homestay families are screened carefully by our homestay counselor and most of them already have experience in hosting students. Staying with a family gives the student an insight into the Canadian way of life and an excellent opportunity to practice their language skills.

We schedule placement testing and class visits for new students. An interview and a reference form are mandatory components of the admissions process. (Interviews for international students are arranged via Zoom).
Our student population is approximately 40% international.
All students follow the regular curriculum but extra English support is provided throughout the year.
